Corporate Communication
Corporate communication is the method of
communication preferred by a corporate organization or an institute to issue a
message to its public which can be both internal and external. Internal public
consists of the employees and stakeholders of the company and External public
refers to media, general public, government, agencies, channel partners, etc.
An organization has to communicate the same message to all its stakeholders so
as to maintain ethic, consistency and credibility. Employee communications,
Government relations, Investor relations, Marketing and Public Relations are
just some of the Types of Corporate Communication.
External Functions of Corporate
Communication includes the requirement for companies to communicate efficiently
with the media and to connect with the public or media relations professionals.
If organizations need to mediate with government agencies for purposes like lobbying,
they need experts who can handle government relations. Public companies employ
specialists in investor relations. Some companies may also have a community
relations handler, specifically for charitable or volunteer works.
